TSS Part 3: The Promise

"You found Fiskerton?! Are you sure?!" Zak cried, glaring down at his sister

"Yes, I'm sure! Go get Mom and Dad!" Lexi cried, glaring back up at her brother

"Get Mom and Dad, Why?! What's wrong?!"

"Just go and get them, now!!!"

Zak did what his sister told him to do and ran off back to the Saturday Home, to get Doc and Drew. As for Lexi, she run up to Fiskerton and tried to wake him, to see if he was still alive.

"Fiskerton, wake up!" Lexi cried, but he did not respond, "Wake up!" Lexi cried again, still no response

Lexi's eyes began to tear up as she held the poor bleeding creature within her arms.

"Please…..Wake up" Lexi tried one last time, and once more, Fiskerton did not respond

Lexi cried for her dear brother, held him tightly in her arms and rested her head against his chest, hiding her sad expression. But she suddenly stopped crying, for she felt a sudden beat in Fiskerton's chest quickly press against her. Lexi lifted her head, glared at Fiskerton and felt relieved, for Fiskerton finally yet slowly moved.

"F-Fiskerton?" Lexi asked, wiping away her tears

"Lexi…Is that you?" Fiskerton asked in a very weak tone

"Y-Yes, it's me Fisk. I'm here" Lexi replied, "Who did this to you?"

"I-I'm not sure" Fiskerton answered, "It hurts…it hurts so badly"

"Don't try to speak Fiskerton, save your energy. Zak will be back with Mom and

Dad" Lexi said, and she was right
As soon as Zak arrived with Doc and Drew, they came down the hill, and helped Lexi carry Fiskerton back home, despite Fiskerton's cries of agony


*The Saturday Home, Medical Room*

As Doc and Drew started working on their fellow family member, Zak and Lexi Saturday sat in the waiting room. The two twins took seats on opposite sides of the room and they glared at each other. Zak Saturday was staring at Lexi with a worried look upon his face. Lexi stared back at Zak with a sad look on her face.
Eventually, Doc and Drew came out of the medical room, slightly covered in their family member's blood and with worried expressions on their faces. The twins walked up to their parents to see what worried them so.

"H-How's he doing?" Zak asked

But Doc and Drew remained silent for a moment

"I-Is he going to be alright?" Lexi asked in a worried tone

Again, they both remained silent, until Doc finally answered

"Zak…Lexi…..Fiskerton's incredibly injured, he's lost too much blood…..And we're losing him"

The two twins were both shocked to the horrible news

"B-But…..You can make him better…R-R-Right?" Lexi asked

Drew kneeled down to Lexi's height and replied, "I'm sorry Lexi…..We're doing the best we can…but he may not make it…so……he'll be…going to heaven soon"

" ! Wait…F-Fiskerton's going to die?!" Zak cried

"He might Zak…It doesn't look too good for him" Doc replied

"But…He's our brother" Lexi said while tearing up

"We know Lexi…That's why he needs you and Zak to be strong for him…He needs you now more than ever" Drew said

"Can we see him?" Zak desperately asked

"Of course…" Doc replied, "Just don't mention anything about him dying…"

The twins nodded and made their way into the medical room, where they found their beloved brother, laying on the medical bed. Zak and Lexi both felt incredible pain in their hearts, as they glared at the casts covering parts of Fiskerton's body, the stitches holding together the deep cuts, the I.V.s injected into his arms, and the cloth wrapped around his eyes.

"Zak? Lexi? Is that you?" Fiskerton asked

"Yes, it's us Fisk" Zak replied"
"How are you feeling?" Lexi asked

"Oh, I'm fine…Despite getting ambushed last night, the pain…And my vision gone, possibly forever" Fiskerton said sarcastically

For a moment, the twins and the wounded cryptid said nothing

"Well uh…..Lexi and I were just planning on all the fun stuff we're going to do together, once you recover"

"Zak…I'm not stupid, and I'm not deaf…I heard what Doc and Drew said to you…..I'm done for, I'll be dead soon enough" Fiskerton said

"Don't you say that, you're not going to die!" Lexi quickly shouted

"Lexi…you know perfectly well that I am, and nothing you say or do can change that" Fiskerton said

"No…you're wrong" Lexi said, as she walked up to Fiskerton, "There IS something I can do about it, I won't let you leave" Lexi said, too stubborn to accept Fisk's demise

"Lexi…..Everyone dies, it's just the way things are" Fiskerton replied

Lexi could not believe what her brother was saying, she felt as if she was speaking to a different and more naïve part of Fiskerton. Her eyes began to tear up in anger and sadness; she suddenly felt an urge to strike Fiskerton for being so negative. Instead, she lowered her head and pressed her lips against Fiskerton's right cheek, still tearing while doing so.

She then pulled herself back and whispered within Fiskerton's ear, "I'll find a way to save you brother, I promise"

Lexi Saturday quickly left the room while becoming blinded by her tears and went anywhere she wanted to go, anywhere to get away.

"Lexi?!" Zak cried as he followed her, "Lexi where are you going?!"

Lexi then turned to her brother and struck him across his face, causing him to fall to the ground

"OW! What was that for?!" Zak shouted

"Go away!" Lexi cried

Zak stood up and said, "Look, if it's about Fiskerton saying all of that stuff after what I said to him then I'm sorry, but we can't just leave him to die alone!"

"Stop saying that! He's not going to die!" Lexi cried in anger, "Besides, I can't stand to see him like that! All of those stitches, casts and I.V.s, he's just a cryptid for crying out loud!"

"Lexi, I care about him too" Zak said as he tried to comfort Lexi, "I know how you feel"

"No, you don't know how I feel!" Lexi shouted as she pushed Zak away from her,

"You don't have the slightest idea about how I feel! It tears me apart seeing him like that! You know why?! Because I love each and every one of my cryptid family members more than you do!"

"Lexi…that's not true, I love them just as much as you do. And right now, Fiskerton needs us"

"Just leave me alone!" Lexi cried as she ran off

As Lexi ran, Zak just stood where he was at and didn't follow her this time. He just watched Lexi as she ran into her bedroom and slammed the door shut with all of her might.

"I'll miss him too Lexi" Zak silently said to himself, shedding a tear
